Rules for our forum

The following guidelines are fundamentally rules of conduct which users of the Otherland forum are to abide by. They apply especially to articles, signatures, and avatars. The gamigo team always tries to update the community with current information and moderate the forums both fairly and impartially. We reserve the right to change these forum rules. These rules do not replace the Terms of Use, rather they add to them.

1. Respectful Converse
The rights of other members of this community are to be respected. Therefore, other characters, players, groups, and all gamigo employees are not to be:
- abused
- insulted
- harassed
- threatened
- pilloried

2. Ban on Discrimination
Other characters, players, groups, and all gamigo employees are not to be attacked or confounded on the grounds of:
- their race or ethnic origin
- their religion or beliefs
- their age
- their gender
- their sexual identity
- a disability

3. No Extreme Statements / Violence / Threats
The publication or transmitting of content (in text or picture form) as well as the use of usernames and/or links to websites with pictures or content that are:
- illegal
- sexually offensive
- malicious
- threatening
- abusive
- defamatory
- obscene
- hateful
- racist
- damaging to one's reputation
- business-damaging
- drug-glamorizing
or that depict violence in any form is forbidden.

4. Cheating / Harmful Programs
It is forbidden to publish information that supports or encourages cheating (exploitation) of the game rules. This includes the modification of program files as well as hacks, Trojans or other harmful programs.

5. Spamming / Trolling
The repetitive/disruptive publishing of forum posts (spamming) is forbidden. Spam also includes:
a. The transgression of threads into non-topic related discussions/postings that deviate from the topic
b. Posting the same content in various areas/double posting answers/content (“crossposting”)
c. The creation of posts with the sole purpose of creating unrest in the forum
d. Continuous writing in capitals (shouting)
e. "Begging posts" (e.g. "can somebody level me?")
f. Excessive use of punctuation and/or smileys in a row
g. One-word posting, which includes smileys “(except on the Off-Topic-Threads)”

6. Composing Topics and Posts
Newly created topics should be labeled with a heading relevant to the core topic and should be created in the matching sub-forum. The search function should be used in the forum, if available, in order to avoid renewed posting of existing topics.

7. Multi-accounting
Every user is allowed no more than one account. Multiple registrations are forbidden. We reserve the right to block user forum accounts temporarily or permanently.
Households with the same internet access are excluded. Users that have multiple forum accounts per household are encouraged to register this per PM to the community manager or via e-mail to the support. They are then to wait for confirmation that their forum accounts are registered and recorded. If multiple accounts with the same IP are found without having been registered, then this will count as multi-accounting.

8. Bypassing a Ban by Proxy Posting
The banning of forum and game accounts is specific to the individual and is not related to a single account. Posts in the name of a blocked user are forbidden (so-called "proxy posting").

9. Impersonating a gamigo Employee
It is not allowed to claim to be an employee or representative (e.g. GM) of gamigo AG in any form of online communication. This also includes usernames, user profiles and voice feedback, text, chat, and the publishing of messages. The usage of rank image as avatar also counts.

10. Identity of Another User
The publishing of information regarding the identity of another user or gamigo employee or representative (e.g. Game Master) is forbidden. This refers to all personal data like name, address, telephone number, e-mail address, or links to personal websites which provide information about a person that is behind an account. Furthermore, the publishing of private messages or private chat logs is forbidden.

11. Copyrighted Works
The uploading or transferring of copyrighted material without the explicit consent of the copyright holder is forbidden.

12. Signature Size
The size of the signature may not exceed the following values:
Height: 125 px
Width: 400 px
File size: 450000 Byte
Number of rows: with signature picture 4 rows; without signature picture 7 rows
Type size: 12 px

13. Selling of Product / Services
The advertising and selling of products or services for other games in the forums is forbidden. In-game products and services may only be purchased and sold in the context of the gamigo approved in-game currency in the designated forum platforms (market places).

14. Advertising
Advertising for self-serving, non-gamigo related industries, organizations, or websites, as well as posting links to the corresponding sites, is forbidden. Advertising game-related fansites is allowed as long as the fansites serve no commercial purpose.

15. Publishing Communication with gamigo
Posts or answers to a discussion concerning disciplinary measures against a player, character, or account are not allowed to be made public and discussed and will be deleted without warning. Publishing the communication between a user and gamigo employee/representative is also not allowed.

16. Reporting to the Team
The "Report post" function may only be used for reporting the infringement of rules. The "Private message" function is there to be used for all other matters. Contacting multiple team members about the same topic within 48 hours is not allowed.

If any user breaks any of these rules, he will get warned and this can result in a temporary or permanent ban from the forums according to the violation and his violations in the past.
The users should follow the moderators’ instructions. The moderator team will contact the said person when these rules are infringed upon. Turn to the relevant moderator team with complaints regarding warnings or banning of forum accounts.
